The white sands are located about an hour or so from El Paso, in New Mexico. It is 275 square miles of pure white Egyptian sand dunes, the largest in the world. The sand looks kind of gray in the pictures but it is blinding white! And super fine and soft. This is truly an majestic place.

The mountains in the back ground are beautiful. The sands sit in the basin of a mountain range. We bought sledding discs to slide down the dunes. Some of the dunes are pretty high. They spray the bottom with wax or furniture polish to make them go faster.

We went with a group of friends. The boys had a blast.

The sand makes great opportunity for great pictures.

It was a beautiful day in the 80's. But with the glare and reflection from the sand it was hotter and the sun was strong. We packed a lunch and set up lawn chairs.

James was happy but he struggled with the bright sun. His eyes were really irritated. Next year will be easier for him. We set him up on a blanket under an umbrella.
